Westinghouse LTV-32W1 32 Inch Widescreen LCD TV LTV-32W1 Specifications

Loaded with picture-enhancing technologies and a DVI (Digital Visual Interface) for a direct-digital connection with a DTV receiver, Westinghouse Digital’s LTV-32W1 32-inch widescreen LCD television will amaze you with its ability to render sharp, vivid images from standard- and high-definition sources alike. The set’s widescreen, 16:9 aspect ratio is specially designed to match the dimensions of your favorite DVD movies and HDTV broadcasts, and you can use it as a computer monitor, too.

The 1,366 x 768-pixel LTV-32W1 features an ultra-thin, 8.5-inch profile with a 170-degree viewing angle that makes it possible to view a clear picture from almost anywhere in the room–perfect for gatherings and family movie nights. The TV is compatible with everything from standard 480i to 480p, 720p, and full 1080i HD pictures (built-in image scaling adjusts 1080i signals to match the set’s 768 horizontal lines). LCD screens offer a number of benefits over CRT monitors and televisions, including general ease of use, freedom from eye strain (no screen flickering or radiation emissions), quiet operation (no high-pitch “flyback” noise, an issue with CRT TVs), image geometry (no curvature distortion or susceptibility to magnetic interference from, say, speakers), screen life (no risk of image burn-in), space savings, and light weight/easy positioning.

The set boasts not just TrueLife video enhancement, but award-winning Faroudja DCDi (Directional Correlation Deinterlacing), as well, a video processing technology designed to eliminate jagged edges and provide a clearer picture. The LTV-32W1’s exceptional 8 millisecond response time (the time it takes the screen’s pixels to update themselves with fresh data) delivers crisp images for fast-action moving video and video games. The set also displays the broadest possible range of colors and–with its 550 cd/m2 brightness–produces vibrant images in almost any lighting condition.

Died after three years – BywayJ – Ithaca, NY United States
I bought this TV for Christmas 2006 and was happy with him for the first two years. We have not connected to cable or satellite, it is used only for watching DVDs and is connected to a computer to watch streaming movies. Shortly after the warranty expired it started problems. First, it would not reliably enable or disable the switch or remotely. We would occasionally come to us to turn it off. Finally, he did not have to work together.

Westinghouse customerService was terrible! They suggested that it was unlikely that it is not irreparable. Best Buy will not be useful unless an extended warranty was purchased. This TV has been used less than 10 hours per week, so it is very frustrating for her trash can after a short time. I think that most customers expect from their investment in a flat-screen TV last more than 3 years and 2 months. I will never again buy a product from Westinghouse.

Will never buy Westinghouse again! – A. Hensler – Madison, WI
If the TV does not exceed two years, and the screen goes blank just begun. Like other commentators, turning the TV off and back on solved the problem at first. Well, when the screen goes blank, and must be switched off for much longer time before it works again. to fix the price of the problem is that television is a value. My brother has a different model from Westinghouse and has been for six months or more and the same is happening with its TV channels. Westinghouse is garbage!Do not buy!

Westinghouse TVs break – K. Ruddy –
We purchased a Westinghouse flat screen TV about two years ago. It was about two thirds the price of other models. We thought the image quality not as good, but we are not serious viewers, while the price is breaking huge for us. Now we are there and the thing turns OFF mode will not turn on again for several minutes. Shell a little more money and get a TV from a manufacturer of quality. We are anxious that we had.

I had the LTV 32W1 3.5 years now and so far I've had no problems and I really enjoyed the TV. Photo of Brittany, and easy to use. I bought it as an open item at Best Buy back May 2006 to just under 800 dollars. The TV has recently been showing the symptoms of what everyone describes. The TV is the 15-20 minutes, then vacuum. I was told by Westinghouse that it is a ration card or a card failure and the one or other of these problems oftenWith this TV. at Westing house until it cost to send to send $ 225 +. You can try to repair it yourself, but the games will run about $ 100 to 130. Just something to think about when you think considering purchasing this TV.

I purchased this TV used $ 650 from a local dealer, because I bought a PS3 a few months ago and I must say, I'm addicted to this beautiful TV.

I have my computer, PS3, HD receivers in conjunction with this 32-inch screen, but I could not be happier. Although a little too big for a monitor, the resolution is very clear, especially watching Prison Break and 24 in HD = )

I do not want to get an American brand, because I often had badExperience, and I'm happy with Samsung. Although I am not able to offer, leading brands like Sony, Samsung is much more affordable and offers exceptional quality for the money.

I would recommend to anyone, without hesitation. The only drawback is to have all the entries in the back. could I wish they designed an HDMI cable or input record on the page.

Samsung’s DNIe™
Samsung’s revolutionary DNle™ (click for demo) technology offers digital perfection in naturally presented, crystal-clear images that uncover even the most minute detail.
Motion Optimizer
Fast-moving images are optimized to produce more natural-looking motion, thus reducing video noise or blurring.
Contrast Enhancer
Brightness and contrast levels are enhanced for deeper, richer blacks with greater detail and more natural whites.
Color Optimizer
Colors are reproduced with a more lifelike realism, whites are more accurate, and skin tones are given a more natural hue.
Detail Enhancer
DNIe analyzes video signal elements to produce sharper detail, clearer image separation, and more natural edge transition.

The set boasts a 1,366 x 768 pixel resolution. Its widescreen, 16:9 aspect ratio matches the dimension of most movies and HDTV broadcasts, while its wide, 170-degree viewing angles (horizontal x vertical) ensures everyone in the room will enjoy a great view, even when you’ve mounted the unit on a wall. A built-in brightness sensor automatically adjusts the TV’s luminance for the ambient brightness of a given room.

Onboard 10-bit processing produces 3.2 billion lifelike colors and aids in video signal processing for your analog sources. And with its lightning-quick 12 ms response time, astronomical 3,000:1 contrast ratio, impressive 500 cd/m2 brightness rating, and onboard 3D Y/C digital comb filter (which separates the color signals to minimize dot crawl and blurred edges), you’ll see sharp, focused images regardless of their source.

LCD screens offer a number of benefits over CRT monitors and televisions, including general ease of use, freedom from eye strain (no screen flickering or radiation emissions), quiet operation (no high-pitch “flyback” noise, an issue with CRT TVs), accurate image geometry (no curvature distortion or susceptibility to magnetic interference from, say, speakers), long screen life, space savings, and light weight/easy positioning. They also tend to be more affordable than their flat-panel plasma counterparts, which often (though not always) offer faster response times and higher contrast ratios.

The LN-R328W’s DNIe (Samsung Digital Natural Image engine) offers a vision of digital perfection in natural, crystal-clear images that reveal even the most minute detail. The process involves 4 key enhancements: contrast and brightness (for deep, rich blacks and natural whites), motion (which optimizes fast-moving images to produce natural-looking motion, reducing video noise or blurring), color (for lifelike realism, accurate whites, and skin tones with natural hues), and detail (DNIe analyzes video signals to ensure sharp detail, clear image separation, and natural edge transitions).

Samsung’s patented My Color Control technology lets you control specific colors without affecting the whole screen. Samsung provides 6-color control selections: white, red, pink, yellow, green, and blue. It’s your picture–you decide how it looks. Samsung’s PVA screen permits brighter whites than standard TFT LCDs, as well as deeper blacks and every shade in between.

The LN-R328W makes flexibility a top priority, giving you several preset picture and sound modes (and custom settings for each). The TV also permits color temperature adjustment for warm, cool, or neutral tones, along with 4 onscreen languages to choose from (English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese). Choose one of several preset sound modes (standard, music, movie, speech, and custom) for broadcast through the set’s built-in speakers (10-watts-per-channel x 2).

Connections include 2 component-video inputs (480i/480p/720p/1080i), a direct-digital HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface), a PC input (15-pin D-Sub with minijack analog audio), 2 composite-video inputs, 1 S-video input, 1 RF input, 5 attendant sets of stereo (left/right) RCA audio inputs, and 1 stereo RCA audio output. The set’s Anynet (RS-232C) control option simplifies use with other Samsung audio/video components.

Other features include single-tuner picture-in-picture (view 1 TV channel and 1 input source simultaneously), a sleep timer, V-Chip parental control, closed captioning, and an auto volume leveler to minimize jarring differences in loudness between, say, TV programs and their commercials.

What’s in the Box

HDMI port failure – Donna S. Overman –
I had this TV for about two years ago. The image quality was in comparison to my plasma TV fair. This evening, after minimal manipulation of the HDMI cables, HDMI port, has failed. Consideration of the port, it's clear that it is not enough support for the cable to move the cable damaged the HDMI port to prevent. In my opinion this is clearly a design flaw.

Samsung LN-R328W HDMI port failure – P. Cantilo –
I bought two units at the same LN-R328W and were both attached to the wall with the seller, Best Buy. In about 16 months two units developed the same problem. The HDMI port does not appear to spread into the interior of the device, which is a good HDMI connection impossible. Since the units were more than twelve months after numerous complaints, Samsung decided, nothing to suggest the other problem, I propose to help repair white. Do not see this as a design flaw. This is a warning right on two issues: 1) After 12 months you can get any help from Sony. Whether you work for your product and want to be maintained longer, you could use a different brand, 2) into consideration at least based on my experience, the model will be a tendency to fail HDMI port. (See further reports on the sites).

Bought an AOC instead….love it! – P. Livingston – Scottsdale, AZ, U.S.A.
Not a problem with my screen AOC. loooove it! I can not judge without buying it, so that the classification is correct. But I do not want to watch. Decision on AOC.

TV, detachable stand (with screws), a remote control, remote batteries, an RF video cable, a user’s manual, an Anynet AV manual, an AC power cord, a cover bottom, an Anynet cable, a cleaning cloth, and warranty information.

HDMI port failure – Donna S. Overman –
I had this TV for about two years. The image quality was compared to my plasma TV fair. Tonight, after minimal manipulation of the HDMI cable, HDMI port, has failed. The audit of the port, it is clear that it is not enough support for the cable to the movement of the cable damaged the HDMI port to prevent. In my opinion this is clearly a design flaw.

Samsung LN-R328W HDMI port failure – P. Cantilo –
I bought two LN-R328W units at the same time and both were on the wall by the seller, attached Best Buy. In about 16 months, two units developed the same problem. The HDMI connection does not appear in the interior of the device, which is a good HDMI connection makes it impossible to spread. Since the units were more than twelve months, after numerous calls, Samsung has decided not to the other problem I suggest to help pay for the repair. Do not see this as a design flaw. This is a warning right on two points: 1) After 12 months you can get no help from Samsung. If you want your product to function and be maintained longer, you could use a different brand, 2) into consideration, at least based on my experience, this model seems to be a tendency to have HDMI port failures. (See other reports on websites).

Bought an AOC instead….love it! – P. Livingston – Scottsdale, AZ, U.S.A.
Not a problem with my screen AOC. loooove it! I can not rate without buying it, so that the classification is correct. But I do not want to watch. Decision on AOC.

HDTV – To Widescreen Widescreen or not

Well, it's a question that many consumers are. I make a big purchase, I want to get a widescreen or traditional aspect. Here are some points to consider when selecting an HDTV to buy wide-screen TV, HDTV or regular look traditional.

Older TV sets compared to the analog high-definition. TVs are older analog TV era, unless you have a built-in digital receiver. In February 2009, all television stationsneeded in digital broadcasting. This means that analog TVs will be useless if they are not connected via satellite or cable without a digital tuner. This is not a good choice to buy. Move to the line of HDTVs enabled. Fortunately, all TV sets sold after 25 May 2007 included, must be either a digital tuner or at the point of sale, which one are not identified.

LCD or plasma. HDTV is the price in several species can strongly influence that the. LiquidCrystal Display (LCD) HDTV dominates the consumer market in small to medium size and is usually less expensive. Plasma TV models dominate the consumer market in large models. This consideration is not usually a problem in deciding between a widescreen display and a traditional look. What is an examination of life expectancy and cost. A large screen has burned an area of more visuals, "".

Flat screen TV with front / rear projection TV. HDTVDesigns, and the plasma or LCD are generally found in the flat panel design. However, you can always sell rear projection and front projection TVs for home theater systems. In general, the widescreen version is set to increase significantly are the terms of room size, the total weight plateau and restrictions on the movement of your comprehensive review in this selection. If you own a home theater room and a travel plan always have, it is generally recommended to stay away fromFront or rear projection TV with widescreen.

Wide-screen TV shows and movies. About 90 percent of all emissions are traditional look. Most are not pan design and previously formatted by the broadcaster to adapt traditional aspects. If you do most TV shows do not see regularly and periodically with a vendor that shows or movies with widescreen widescreen aspects, has then widescreen is not for you.

Use of your widescreenfor games. The beauty of the joint have a large screen for computer games is the ability to split screen option on many different games without feeling crushed to be used. This is especially true in many FPS games. If you're a gamer, a widescreen HDTV is only your gaming experience

Using your HDTV for the job. Here is another example in which the screen really help, the consumer. Some HDTVs are enabled to accept input from computersand can be used for your work as a monitor. You can often two or three documents on your desktop and show a lot easier with a large screen than on a traditional look. If you use your HDTV as well as TV and monitor, here, where it may be worthwhile in many ways.

For most consumer high-definition widescreen TV is the way to go with very little inconvenience. If you notice not only sitcoms or the establishment of a limited home theater in a small room, they are the most versatileAspect. You can look at both traditional aspects and get the full panoramic appearance on the same device. They are better than conventional HDTVs aspect, as they may provide additional work space and an even greater gaming experience.

I bought this TV Shop local club last week. I think the club stores are the only place to find this particular model number, but the research I did online, it is identical to the 52E77U.

Setting up the TV was very simple. First, you must attach the state, then simply plug the power cord and your entries and turn it on. The first thing you see when you turn is a fundamental Initial Setup menu. Once you go through a few questions, then you are. Ito do shopping, you spend a little time to refine the settings that you with almost any TV you connect. I found a site that some users have about their attitudes, and I tried some of them. I then made some more changes, and I found what I feel is the perfect combination. The picture quality is incredible, very bright and clear, and while HD is just phenomenal.

In terms of sound quality, I do not have all the speakers I listened to a separate receiverSound. I would not expect much in the way of quality for this kind of TV are built for quality picture, sound, and really, I would be nice if they did not even have speakers.

I can not do a single thing to know about this series except for one very strange to be negative. With my setup I run my PS3 and cable to my Onkyo receiver, which then output to the TV. Every time I turned on the TV, I received a message on his lack of conformity. I saw thismentioned on another site, and all I had to do was to turn the TV volume to 0, and never a message.

One final thought. This research on the Sharp LCD TV, there was a mention of the banding issues. Everything I found said this problem has been resolved and lead limitted number of screens in a factory. I did not notice the errors of any kind with my photo. I strongly recommend this TV, at least for the price I paid for it, you get more valuecomparable Samsung, Sony, models, etc..

We bought HDTV at Sam's Club. It was previously purchased and returned satiating it sound bad. A workshop local television that he checked and nothing was found, is wrong. Sam's knocked $ 300.00 from the price, since it was opened. I tested this TV with all connections and found it excellent as a unit. I put our top Motorola cable box to the HDMI input on your TV. The cable box (Charter cable) has a DVI-D, I'm using a DVI-D to HDMI cable converter.(The cable from Wal-Mart bought for $ 43.00) This is a fully digital connection that way. The picture is fantastic, even on non-HDTV signals.
I put our DVD player with component video inputs and keep the DVD player with progressive scan, another great picture.
I have not found negative with the exception of the remote control to handle the small and hard to find. I think they made it small, fine, go with the slim design LCD TV. My only complaint, which is not really a problem for most, that the useComposite or HDMI input does not select image formats for DVD. To use some older DVD, a native 16:9 widescreen and are not improved, so that the bars around the image like a picture frame. However, most DVDs are widescreen enhanced for the entire screen, or fill them the most. In addition, if the expansion of an image, you get less detailed, because it is "stretched" to fit the video on the screen. BTW: Most HDTVs are not in a position to change formats if youAnother thing that the RCA / SVHS hook up anyway.
I think everyone would be happier with this HDTV!

Philips 32PF5320 32-Inch Widescreen LCD HD-Ready TV Overview

Here is a wonderful new TV that not only gives you great picture and sound but also modern styling and quality finish. It features Digital Crystal Clear for natural, vivid images and Virtual Dolby Surround for superb audio.

Philips 32PF5320 32-Inch Widescreen LCD HD-Ready TV Specifications

Save space and enjoy a wonderfully vivid picture with the stylish, 32-inch Philips 32PF5320 widescreen LCD TV, a great choice for small- to medium-sized living rooms. It has a built-in 181-channel NTSC tuner for standard television broadcasts and is capable of displaying crisp high definition video with an optional HD receiver. This set can also double as a PC monitor, and with its Picture-in-Graphics small window in the main picture, you can simultaneously view your PC’s desktop as you watch television programming. This set includes a tabletop stand, but it’s also wall-mountable with optional kit (VESA compatible–200mm x 100mm).

The 32PF5320 has a 1366 x 768-pixel resolution, 176-degree viewing angle, very fast 18 ms (millisecond) response time (great for sports), a 500 cd/m2 (candela per square meter) brightness rating, and an 600:1 contrast ratio. (The higher the contrast ratio, the greater a TV’s ability to display subtle color details and not get washed out by ambient room light.) Other features include Philips Digital Crystal Clear video processing chip (for optimal color, contrast, and sharpness levels), an anti-reflection coated screen, auto volume leveler, adjustable color temperature and sharpness, sleep timer, and V-Chip parental controls.

The 3D comb filter separates brightness and color signals better in 3D domain to eliminate cross-color, cross-luminance and dot-crawl distortion. It performs field-by-field comparisons of the television image to accurately separate the color from the black-and-white information and remove both horizontally and vertically hanging dots, as well as dot crawl, resulting in a razor sharp image. This set also performs 3:2 pulldown detection and reversal, too–a handy feature for watching progressive-scan movie programs in their native 24-frame format. To adapt 24 frames-per-second movies to 30 fps video, frames in the original movie must be duplicated; 3:2 pulldown digitally corrects this duplication by removing the redundant information to display a frame-accurate picture.

The Active Control function uniquely and intelligently optimizes picture quality by measuring and analyzing the incoming signal to automatically adjust picture quality settings. Active Control with Light Sensor uses a sensor to adjust the picture brightness depending on the room light conditions.

This TV has two built-in stereo speakers that produce 15 watts per channel (for 30 watts of total power), and can produce Dolby Digital virtual surround sound, emulating a 5.1-channel sound field from just two speakers. It also offers the following connections:

  • Composite AV (RCA) In: 2 (1 side)
  • S-Video In: 2 (1 side)
  • Component Video In (Y PB PR): 1
  • HDMI In: 2
  • RF In: 1
  • PC Audio In: 1
  • PC VGA In: 1
  • Headphone: 1

Tech Talk
HDMI — HDMI makes an uncompressed digital RGB connection from the source to the screen. By eliminating conversion to an analog signal, it delivers an unblemished image. The non-degraded signal reduces flicker and leads to a clearer picture. HDMI intelligently communicates the highest output resolution with the source device. The HDMI input is fully backward compatible with DVI sources but includes digital audio. HDMI uses HDCP copy protection.

Great TV…at first, then…big problems! – tekwar – USA
Developed after 10 months of perfect representation of this bug TV. First, the image would be used starting BLK / WHT and cycling would increase the power of color. Then 2.5 months later, when the performance, not starting noise, too bright picture, a collapse, then its lights, but the picture is BLK / WHT. After 4 minutes, the picture returns to normal.
Philips TVs have quality problems. Do a search on YouTube or Google and you'll find many other Philips consumer dissatisfaction.

Great TV couple of irritations – Daniel Bennett – Minneapolis, USA
I had this picture for one year. As a European ex-pat now living in the United States, I wanted something that is multi-voltage and multi (so I was not burdened with a large PC monitor on my return), and was the only screen that my requirements . meet

Really pleased with the quality and functionality. Disadvantages:
* Is) AV switching a bit of a festival button – not compatible with some multiple remote controls (including, ironically, RC9800I Philips)
*) Howreported by others in HD mode, the screen for a few seconds when "overloaded" with a traffic light – this is especially true of CSI, when the cameras are flashing. I tried different cables to nothing.
* Non-detect) very strongly about the HDMI – often, that I did 80 for the DVD of a crank have LG LDA-511

That's frustrating that all these elements can be removed in software – but it seems that there is an easy way to update the firmware.

So, overallTV-quality versatile rear left with a few simple mistakes.

Now that’s what I’m talking about !!! – Turd Ferguson – usa
If I bought last week, when Sam and I am amazed at the picture, esp. HD. Vizio resumed after a piece of shit, that's the same. I installed one in my family in the cellar, and it also serves as a computer monitor. I only regret that they did not have a room for us!

Good budget model, a couple of flaws – R. Mundell – New York, NY
I bought this model because it works on U.S. and European voltages and both PAL and NTSC signals, which do not have a characteristic of many other models.

The image is very much on the HD channels, but they show defects on the NTSC channels on my digital box (let's face it – there is a big difference in picture quality between these two broadcast standards)! I recommend this TV for anyone who does not have an HD source.

PIP does not work only with certain inputs, butBig deal.

PC-VGA input is not so sharp, so fantastic, but this is not recommended as the primary monitor. Although 1024×768 is the official supported the resolution of the VGA input, I adjust my PC input to 1366×768 @ 60Hz and it works well.Note that there is some bleed over between HD component input and VGA output – if VGA cable connected is, it has a small picture and sound interference when you see the source HD.

The speakers are not very strong and this is unfortunately notremovable. I think surround sound amplifiers instead.

The HD component input has a "bug", the results on the screen goes blank for half a second (with an error "unsupported resolution") when a bright flash on the screen in HD resolution. I bought an HDMI cable and the problem solved, but it could be a problem if you do not have HD source with HDMI output have.

Overall, there is a large TV with excellent picture quality with HD input and a good price. AndMulti-voltage support is helpful if you could some time abroad.
