Westinghouse LTV-32W1 32 Inch Widescreen LCD TV LTV-32W1 Specifications

Loaded with picture-enhancing technologies and a DVI (Digital Visual Interface) for a direct-digital connection with a DTV receiver, Westinghouse Digital’s LTV-32W1 32-inch widescreen LCD television will amaze you with its ability to render sharp, vivid images from standard- and high-definition sources alike. The set’s widescreen, 16:9 aspect ratio is specially designed to match the dimensions of your favorite DVD movies and HDTV broadcasts, and you can use it as a computer monitor, too.

The 1,366 x 768-pixel LTV-32W1 features an ultra-thin, 8.5-inch profile with a 170-degree viewing angle that makes it possible to view a clear picture from almost anywhere in the room–perfect for gatherings and family movie nights. The TV is compatible with everything from standard 480i to 480p, 720p, and full 1080i HD pictures (built-in image scaling adjusts 1080i signals to match the set’s 768 horizontal lines). Compatible PC inputs range from 640 x 480 to 800 x 600, 1,024 x 768, 1,280 x 720, and full 1,366 x 768.

Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p or 720p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts.

LCD screens offer a number of benefits over CRT monitors and televisions, including general ease of use, freedom from eye strain (no screen flickering or radiation emissions), quiet operation (no high-pitch “flyback” noise, an issue with CRT TVs), image geometry (no curvature distortion or susceptibility to magnetic interference from, say, speakers), screen life (no risk of image burn-in), space savings, and light weight/easy positioning.

The set boasts not just TrueLife video enhancement, but award-winning Faroudja DCDi (Directional Correlation Deinterlacing), as well, a video processing technology designed to eliminate jagged edges and provide a clearer picture. The LTV-32W1’s exceptional 8 millisecond response time (the time it takes the screen’s pixels to update themselves with fresh data) delivers crisp images for fast-action moving video and video games. The set also displays the broadest possible range of colors and–with its 550 cd/m2 brightness–produces vibrant images in almost any lighting condition.

Westinghouse Digital’s single-tuner PIP (picture-in-picture) feature lets you watch any source as your main image and some combination of sources as a secondary image atop each main screen. PIP functions include positioning, sizing, image swap, and audio swap.

Connections include 2 component-video inputs (both SD), 2 composite-video, 1 S-video, 1 RF, and 1 PC (RGB). A headphone jack fosters private listening. The set gives you stereo audio (with 9 watts per channel) from inputs or broadcast programming.

The set is “frame ready” so you can attach a Westinghouse Décor frame to match the furnishings and style of any room in the house.

Died after three years – BywayJ – Ithaca, NY United States
I bought this TV for Christmas 2006 and was happy with him for the first two years. We have not connected to cable or satellite, it is used only for watching DVDs and is connected to a computer to watch streaming movies. Shortly after the warranty expired it started problems. First, it would not reliably enable or disable the switch or remotely. We would occasionally come to us to turn it off. Finally, he did not have to work together.

Westinghouse customerService was terrible! They suggested that it was unlikely that it is not irreparable. Best Buy will not be useful unless an extended warranty was purchased. This TV has been used less than 10 hours per week, so it is very frustrating for her trash can after a short time. I think that most customers expect from their investment in a flat-screen TV last more than 3 years and 2 months. I will never again buy a product from Westinghouse.

Will never buy Westinghouse again! – A. Hensler – Madison, WI
If the TV does not exceed two years, and the screen goes blank just begun. Like other commentators, turning the TV off and back on solved the problem at first. Well, when the screen goes blank, and must be switched off for much longer time before it works again. to fix the price of the problem is that television is a value. My brother has a different model from Westinghouse and has been for six months or more and the same is happening with its TV channels. Westinghouse is garbage!Do not buy!

Westinghouse TVs break – K. Ruddy –
We purchased a Westinghouse flat screen TV about two years ago. It was about two thirds the price of other models. We thought the image quality not as good, but we are not serious viewers, while the price is breaking huge for us. Now we are there and the thing turns OFF mode will not turn on again for several minutes. Shell a little more money and get a TV from a manufacturer of quality. We are anxious that we had.

I had the LTV 32W1 3.5 years now and so far I've had no problems and I really enjoyed the TV. Photo of Brittany, and easy to use. I bought it as an open item at Best Buy back May 2006 to just under 800 dollars. The TV has recently been showing the symptoms of what everyone describes. The TV is the 15-20 minutes, then vacuum. I was told by Westinghouse that it is a ration card or a card failure and the one or other of these problems oftenWith this TV. at Westing house until it cost to send to send $ 225 +. After researching the purchase of two LCD TVs for my children, I was shopping around and found this Westinghouse. In fact, I do not think it would be a great TV, because there is less money than comparable LCD TVs sit on both sides of the stores it on the shelf. All were, and the same channel. Comparisons are easy! I was prepared to hate the thought Westinghouse is in the same class as some no-name brand is junk ..! After all, it is less than $ 400.00!

Butwhen we were preparing to pick up Phillips TV boxes and into the basket at home, we started reading the box thatthe Westinghouse in. Do my eyes deceive was? Did he really say, LED on it! Not at all. We went to the end of the large and expensive LCD TVs. and 32, which said LEDs have $ 700.00 more! Samsung, Vizio, Panasonic, etc.

First, an explanation of the "electronically challenged among us .. like me, a regular LCD TVs fluorescent borderLight through the LCD lights up to the visible image. Very good!

Then there are newer technology LCD TV with LED lighting board … LEDs shine through the screen and look at the TV screen. Saves energy because LEDs a fraction of the energy as fluorescence. Better, but the black and dark colors are not washed out as a "black", and the colors a little.

But … LED backlit LCD Westinghouse Black Black! darker, bright, vivid colors expected (see the yellow!). And the less energy, like a 40 watt bulb. And television is thin .. I mean thin!
1 inch thick and 14 1 / 2 kg!

Terrific features, Nice Price, a unique technology for less than others, all features .. great importance to the whole thing! And I can not praise too, begin to picture quality, except to say that you see for yourself!

great deal – college kid –
Advantages: picture slim, elegant, light (720p), lightweight, easy to mount, the optical output (Digital Audio), low price ($ 350).

Cons: Stand does not swivel, television seems slightly tilted downwards, inconspicuous speakers, only two HDMI inputs.

Other thoughts: no input component, but it's come with a VGA adapter kit, you can connect a single device with component connections. Perhaps, too, you want to ensure that your HDMI cables are are 1 / 2 "thick or less (plus I've seen), my HDMICable into the slots only because of its thickness (which is understandable, as television itself is only 1.5 "). TV does not decrease slightly oblique. Not a terribly important case, but a little annoying, not because the support can be resolved. Speakers are at the bottom / back of the TV when the sound is below average. Overall, you will have a hard time finding a better TV 32 "720p for the same LED prices.

Great for the Price – Bradley R. Davis –
Benefits
– Very good idea of quality.
– A great value.

Disadvantages:
– The speakers are terrible.
– Change channel was almost two seconds per click.
– Sometimes I have to click on the remote twice to make it work.

Thinking
– It's a great buy price.
– Ideal use would be a computer screen.

Great TV and Computer Monitor – DanielJ –
I love this TV, I use it as a computer monitor and it works on a large, usually I play video games or watching videos on the Internet, so that the resolution was not great case for me.

I have two of these units since the fall of 2007 and so far they were great. The image quality is especially excellent in HD. I saved a lot compared to the great names of the units size and it was worth it (less convergent now so to because the prices seem to have). I am only writing because the most recent messages appear very negative, but it was not my experience.

I do not doubt the posts here and recommends that you purchase an extended warranty from a third party with this set, whileCases. In fact, it might be better to buy a refurbished, so that the Westinghouse warranty is short (90 days) and a further guarantee company starts earlier. I bought mine online from the renovated eCost (and saw nothing wrong with them came from), but has a warranty of two years. I Did It Again "last month with a slightly newer model Westinghouse, as a gift to a parent, and added the SquareTrade warranty for not much extra. By purchasing this way is very cheap and relativelySafe. Assuming they survive the first 90 days, you never have to with Westinghouse customer service that people here say, is to be treated badly. But the product itself looks good for the price. If this is the only way to afford it, can break in LCD TVs and HD, at a very reasonable Rebuilt by, then you go on. A final warning to all brands do not accept delivery until you have seen at work. Make sure you see the sender of the plug before the signing. At least with eCost, says the box itselfthat it was easy, the man waiting for a UPS minute presentation. I had a small UHF antenna (all you need is a cheap, even for HD) – or do you go to the cable good – to look closely.

Not worth the money – Chelsea Williams – Philadelphia, PA USA
Do not buy this TV. Do you research before buying Westinghouse TVs. The product is good for about a year, then dies convienently 06:01 monthy after the warranty has expired. So if you want to go hundreds of dollars a year ahead, spend. Not to mention dressing Service is terrible and not very inviting for customers. To repair your TV, even under warranty, you must pay your fees for the vessel free telephone charges will be fixed. I have a $ 500 TV, has worked for the13 months and died. Our last TV lasted seven years. Westinghouse is the shit. And they do not care.

Poor Quality, Bad Service – D. Cooper – St. Louis
Like many people I read about it, I'm having problems with my Westinghouse LCD TV a few months after the purchase. Unfortunately, my problems are sporadic and not notice when cable television, I suspect that this problem through the input source I have used other thing (a video game console was created). I had this service unit twice, and when I realized that the problem was with the television and not the input source was the unit under warrantyabout three months. Despite the documentation to show that my problems only started a few months after buying their products, their customer service basically told me I was wrong up shit creek I think he was angry to wait on me, a $ 600 TV at to work properly for a year and a half. Thanks for nothing, Westinghouse! The next time I'm going to go with Toshiba or Samsung, and I encourage everyone to do the same.

Benefits
Many factors of production is still a semi-functionalentire 15 months of purchase.

Cons
Static discolored areas in the same color (especially white and red), the frame rate drops (played poorly), customer service does not respond and do supposedly pay out of pocket for a service that they give only grudgingly, some customers have reported is, completely discharged .

I was told by Westinghouse that a board or a power outage in the main map and the other of these problems are oftenWith this TV. The Westing house, we'll send you the shipping + $ 225. You can try to repair it myself, but the parties have to run around $ 100-130. Just something to consider if you are considering buying this TV.

After about 2 years now, the image space after 10-15 minutes. Cut the power and Restores Files, sometimes, or maybe not. Waiting for the next sale, so that we can buy from another manufacturer. I wander obsolescence built into this product

Poor Quality, Bad Service – D. Cooper – St. Louis
Like many people I read, I'm having problems with my Westinghouse LCD TV a few months after purchase. Unfortunately, my problems sporadically, and without noticing the display of cable TV, I assumed that this problem from a different input source I (on a video game, they were caused) console. I had waited for the device twice, and when I realized that the problem is with the television and not the input source was the unit outside the warrantyapproximately 3 months. Despite the documentation to show that my problems began just months after buying their product, their poor customer service basically told I was in the shit. I think it was stupid of me to expect to run a $ 600 television set correctly for a year and a half. Thank you for everything, Westinghouse! The next time I'll go with Toshiba or Samsung, and I encourage others to do the same.

Pros
Many inputs, is still semi-functional oneentire 15 months after purchase.

Cons
Static discolored areas of uniform color (especially white and red),) a few drops of framerate (bad for games that have customer service is not responding and said that you pay out of pocket for a service rendered by them reluctantly, some customers have reported , the discharge is complete.

Westinghouse 26-Inch 720p LCD HDTV Review

Customer Reviews

I have no problem with this HDTV. I think it's still a better deal with the very nice picture and sound quality. I bought it during the sales target Thanksgiving. I connected an antenna with regular public and did a channel scan according to the instructions on the manual completely. As long as it catches the signal is digital quality picture and sound are great. For example, in my area, picture and sound quality of digital channels such as Channel 2.1 (KCBS) Channel 4.1(KNBC), Channel 5.1 (KTLA), etc. are superb, crystal clear – I can hear the beautiful student reporter of the news. This HDTV achieve a quality design engineering. For those who complained of noise, buzz, I suggest they check the source outside the TV, which is probably the source of the noise is buzz. I never had noise buzz of my unit Westinghouse HDTV. My only suggestion is to Westinghouse they need to put some more workDesign On-screen menu. It seems that the imagination, but it is fully functional, no problems. Westinghouse Thanks for the good quality of HDTV. You have my place. If you redraw the screen menus to make, it seems more practical, I'll give you a +.

Still going strong! – D. Madden – White Lake, MI United States
I bought on Black Friday 2008th It was our 4th HDTV. Good size for the bedroom. Have had no problems. The picture is very good, I think he draws (without antenna), better than some of HDTV channels in the other house. I like the remote, many features, good size. TV program also offers information that our most expensive LG and Panasonic not. The only thing they (the program guide information) can read a little difficult. It is important, but transparent, so it is hard to readshow for the TV program, behind the leader.

Other than these very small – the TV was great. Glad we bought it.

audio issue – pity sing –
I bought this TV thinking it was a business, and then realized that the low price reflects the low quality of TV. The sound has an acoustic constant (and entertaining) Buzz, when the TV is on. I replaced the TV with the same model, thinking it was a bad TV, but the 2nd one has the same problem! Westinghouse customer service blamed the cable connection, cable, but twice (tested and replaced the box and connectors), and spoke to someone else who has the same model andOf course, the same problem. The bottom line is that this model should be retrieved.
