Westinghouse LTV-32W1 32 Inch Widescreen LCD TV LTV-32W1 Specifications
Loaded with picture-enhancing technologies and a DVI (Digital Visual Interface) for a direct-digital connection with a DTV receiver, Westinghouse Digital’s LTV-32W1 32-inch widescreen LCD television will amaze you with its ability to render sharp, vivid images from standard- and high-definition sources alike. The set’s widescreen, 16:9 aspect ratio is specially designed to match the dimensions of your favorite DVD movies and HDTV broadcasts, and you can use it as a computer monitor, too.
The 1,366 x 768-pixel LTV-32W1 features an ultra-thin, 8.5-inch profile with a 170-degree viewing angle that makes it possible to view a clear picture from almost anywhere in the room–perfect for gatherings and family movie nights. The TV is compatible with everything from standard 480i to 480p, 720p, and full 1080i HD pictures (built-in image scaling adjusts 1080i signals to match the set’s 768 horizontal lines). Compatible PC inputs range from 640 x 480 to 800 x 600, 1,024 x 768, 1,280 x 720, and full 1,366 x 768.
Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p or 720p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts.
LCD screens offer a number of benefits over CRT monitors and televisions, including general ease of use, freedom from eye strain (no screen flickering or radiation emissions), quiet operation (no high-pitch “flyback” noise, an issue with CRT TVs), image geometry (no curvature distortion or susceptibility to magnetic interference from, say, speakers), screen life (no risk of image burn-in), space savings, and light weight/easy positioning.
The set boasts not just TrueLife video enhancement, but award-winning Faroudja DCDi (Directional Correlation Deinterlacing), as well, a video processing technology designed to eliminate jagged edges and provide a clearer picture. The LTV-32W1’s exceptional 8 millisecond response time (the time it takes the screen’s pixels to update themselves with fresh data) delivers crisp images for fast-action moving video and video games. The set also displays the broadest possible range of colors and–with its 550 cd/m2 brightness–produces vibrant images in almost any lighting condition.
Westinghouse Digital’s single-tuner PIP (picture-in-picture) feature lets you watch any source as your main image and some combination of sources as a secondary image atop each main screen. PIP functions include positioning, sizing, image swap, and audio swap.
Connections include 2 component-video inputs (both SD), 2 composite-video, 1 S-video, 1 RF, and 1 PC (RGB). A headphone jack fosters private listening. The set gives you stereo audio (with 9 watts per channel) from inputs or broadcast programming.
The set is “frame ready” so you can attach a Westinghouse Décor frame to match the furnishings and style of any room in the house.

Died after three years – BywayJ – Ithaca, NY United States
I bought this TV for Christmas 2006 and was happy with him for the first two years. We have not connected to cable or satellite, it is used only for watching DVDs and is connected to a computer to watch streaming movies. Shortly after the warranty expired it started problems. First, it would not reliably enable or disable the switch or remotely. We would occasionally come to us to turn it off. Finally, he did not have to work together.
Westinghouse customerService was terrible! They suggested that it was unlikely that it is not irreparable. Best Buy will not be useful unless an extended warranty was purchased. This TV has been used less than 10 hours per week, so it is very frustrating for her trash can after a short time. I think that most customers expect from their investment in a flat-screen TV last more than 3 years and 2 months. I will never again buy a product from Westinghouse.
Will never buy Westinghouse again! – A. Hensler – Madison, WI
If the TV does not exceed two years, and the screen goes blank just begun. Like other commentators, turning the TV off and back on solved the problem at first. Well, when the screen goes blank, and must be switched off for much longer time before it works again. to fix the price of the problem is that television is a value. My brother has a different model from Westinghouse and has been for six months or more and the same is happening with its TV channels. Westinghouse is garbage!Do not buy!
Westinghouse TVs break – K. Ruddy –
We purchased a Westinghouse flat screen TV about two years ago. It was about two thirds the price of other models. We thought the image quality not as good, but we are not serious viewers, while the price is breaking huge for us. Now we are there and the thing turns OFF mode will not turn on again for several minutes. Shell a little more money and get a TV from a manufacturer of quality. We are anxious that we had.
Weigh the price with the length of use – Mark – Houston, TX USA
I had the LTV 32W1 3.5 years now and so far I've had no problems and I really enjoyed the TV. Photo of Brittany, and easy to use. I bought it as an open item at Best Buy back May 2006 to just under 800 dollars. The TV has recently been showing the symptoms of what everyone describes. The TV is the 15-20 minutes, then vacuum. I was told by Westinghouse that it is a ration card or a card failure and the one or other of these problems oftenWith this TV. at Westing house until it cost to send to send $ 225 +. You can try to repair it yourself, but the games will run about $ 100 to 130. Just something to think about when you think considering purchasing this TV.
